Constela collects nothing about you. It has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. A few features use your phone's location, camera, compass or notifications; each one asks first, works only on your device, and is optional.
Your location
Only if you tap “Use my location” in “Your sky”, Constela asks for your location to show which satellites are above you and when they pass over. It is rounded to about a kilometre, kept on your device to remember your place, and never sent anywhere. You can pick a city or tap the globe instead, and the app works fully without it.
The camera, compass and tilt
Only when you open “Look up through the camera”, Constela shows the camera's picture with the satellites drawn over it, using the compass and tilt to know where you point the phone. Nothing is recorded, saved or sent; the camera turns off when you close the view, and the view works without the camera too.
Reminders
If you tap “Remind me” on a pass, the app asks to show notifications and schedules one on your phone about fifteen minutes before the pass. Nothing about it leaves your device.
What the app downloads
The satellite orbits are public data from CelesTrak and the launch schedule is public data from The Space Devs. A copy comes with the app; the app and its home-screen widget also download fresher copies from constela.earth. Those requests carry nothing about you beyond what every web request does (your IP address, needed to send the reply), and Constela does not use them to identify or follow you. Everything else — positions, passes, coverage, routes — is computed on your device.
Sharing
If you tap “Share”, the text is handed to your phone's own share sheet and goes wherever you choose to send it. Constela does not see or keep it.
Links
The satellite card links to CelesTrak and N2YO, and the launch list credits The Space Devs. Those sites have their own privacy policies.
